Oops! Somebody at Disney Got in Big Trouble

You wouldn't think it could happen to a big company like Disney, but when it forgot to renew its ownership of the Club Penguin domain name, all of Club Penguin stopped working.

Well, not really, Club Penguin was still there, but no one could get on the site except Rockhopper and Candace and BillyBob and all the Penguins who work for Disney. All the Penguins who don't work for Disney -- 99.9999% of the Penguins we see on the site every day -- couldn't get on.

It sure must have been lonely there!

Meantime, if you are still having trouble getting on CP, as some people are, go to Club Penguin Insiders and read the instructions. There are different instructions for Mac and PC, so be sure to read the right ones!

British Club Penguin & Webkinz Fans Should Beware

Scam artists, that is, people who try to take people's money by tricking them (sometimes in ways that are perfectly legal), have convinced some young British Club Penguin fans to pay money to receive Club Penguin cheats and hints through their cell phones by text message, according to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper.

According to the Daily Mirror, people who put the term "Club Penguin Cheats" into Google received a paid ad in response for a website called "unlockcheatscodes.net" that offered them cheats and hints for Club Penguin and for Webkinz.

There was also a similar site for Pokemon.

Unfortunately, people who signed up had to pay 2 pounds (presently, a bit over 3 dollars) every three days to get the hints. According to the Mirror, some people did not realize they had to pay, and when they tried to cancel, it was very hard to do so.

You can read the entire Daily Mirror article here. Meantime, here are some TOTALLY FREE hints to avoid trouble like this:

1) Beware of cheat services that want you to give them your phone number.

2) Beware of cheat sites that want you to supply a credit card or PayPal information or payment in any way.

Here is the most important TOTALLY FREE HINT:

3) Unless you are an adult yourself, always ask a parent or your legal guardian before you sign up for anything anywhere.

Although this Daily Mirror story is about British children getting caught up in this and losing some money, the company involved apparently is American. That means this is international, so it doesn't matter where you live. Be careful!

As you all may remember from last year, there was something called, the Penguin Play Awards. For those who don't remember, once a year, starting the end of March ending early April, penguins voted on their favorite costumes, favorite play (I think they mean script), favorite set, favorite music, and best special effects. This is supposed to be annual and it was done 2009 and 2010. Now here were the nominees and results:

But just where exactly is the penguin play awards this year? The world may never know. Club Penguin on their community blog that they are upgrading the Dance Lounge. They also say they are planning a new game. First of all, Club Penguin, we do not need a new game, we just got one LESS than a week ago. Why do we need another? Second of all, we don't need upgrades to rooms, I mean, they may be old, but they don't look bad! So PLEASE Club Penguin, PLEASE! Cut it out with fail! I don't have anything wrong with you not doing the Penguin Play Awards, in fact, I actually despise this whole Penguin Play Awards thing, because there are probably only two possible ways the Quest for the Golden Puffle won twice.

Okay, maybe I didn't ski at Super 8 Motel, I was at a resort, but yeah, this was the closest example I could find. Let me tell you what I saw.

I was at the food court (taking a break from skiing OR eating breakfast, I can't remember what reason), and there was these two guys, at the food court, one in a penguin suit, the other in a banana suit. They were there to eat a snack. I don't know what the penguin got, but I know that the guy in the banana suit bought A BANANA! Yes! He was a cannibal (a person who eats their own kind). Scary eh? Waddle into the Snow Forts and try to escape those puffles throwing snowballs toward the Puffle Feeding sign. Throw as many O berries (snowballs) into the puffles' mouth.

Pretty neat huh? It looks like what a Windows 7 and a MacBook Pro (2009) would look like if they were mixed... with accessories.
